Site Rules and Guidelines Empty
PostSubject: Site Rules and Guidelines   Site Rules and Guidelines EmptyFri Jul 01, 2016 12:44 am

General Rules:

  1. Be polite. We are here to have fun and let our imaginations about the Overwatch universe run wild. Be respectful towards other members and don't start problems or drama with one another.
  2. Be appropriate. Discuss and socialize on whatever you want to talk about, but try not to bring up and casually talk about vulgar/sensitive topics like violence, religion, personal information, sex, rants, or politics.
  3. No spamming across the forum board.
  4. Respect the opinions of your fellow members. You may not have to agree, but try not to ignite a flame war on this forum.
  5. Follow instructions as told by admins and moderators.

Role-Playing Rules:

  1. This is a PG-13 roleplaying site, so SOME foul language in role-playing is mildly acceptable (excluding the f-word). Please try not to go overboard and also keep sexual actions to the absolute minimum (if lemons needed to be act it out, do it via PM).
  2. RP posts should be 3 sentences at minimum and should be descriptive and informative. Paragaphs are not really needed, but it should be enough to give readers a visual imagination what's going.
  3. Keep true to the lore already set up by Overwatch. If you must, please do research and educate yourself about the universe Overwatch takes place in before you join the RP. The best way to do so is to check the main website and read the story; alternatively you can take a look at Reddit or Overwatch wikis if you're in a hurry.
  4. Be professional. What happens in the roleplay should not dictate the relationships OOC and towards each other outside the roleplaying section. We're all friends here, so please keep your sanity in check and take it easy.
  5. Be sure to follow other rules set up regarding characters, fighting, abilities, missions, socializing, experience, and ranking up.
  6. Be fair and realistic. When roleplaying, always be considerate of those you are interacting with in-character and try not to be fully biased towards your own character when in opposition with another character. Always read the previous posts before making your own.
  7. Do not godmod/metagame. Godmodding/metagaming is when a player controls the actions of another player and or a player performs actions or has knowledge that their character should not be capable of considering the situation he/she is in. Godmodding ruins the flow of the story and is very frustrating, and many roleplay sites do not tolerate it. We are no exception and there will be heavy consequences for those who do.
  8. When plotting or planning, always be sure to discuss it with whoever is involved. Please do not go on and do your own thing without others knowing.
  9. Plagiarizing is not allowed. You must try to be original when creating your characters, at the very least make an effort to make your character unique in some way. Similarities are inevitable since face claims and game-referencing will occur, and that's fine. However, we will not accept something completely the same as another member unless they approve of it and contact the admin and or mod reviewing the app.

Chatbox Rules:

  1. Be considerate and friendly. Harassment to other players in the form of verbal or textual abuse and or any other form of abuse will not be tolerated.
  2. Refrain from spamming. It's funny now and then, but please don't fill the chat with garbage when there's a conversation going on.
  3. Excessive trolling will not be tolerated. If told to stop, please do stop.
  4. This is a PG-13 site, so there may be some foul language, but abusing it and insulting other players is unacceptable. This goes to both moderators and members, no exceptions.
  5. No advertising and malicious links.
  6. Not exactly a strict rule, but please no rick-rolling.

Canon Rules:

  1. Roleplaying as Canon character are first-come, first-serve. If a canon is claimed, you may not take it from the current owner of the character.
  2. With a few exceptions, only one canon may be claimed per player.
  3. Canons MAY be temporarily controlled if they are needed in certain places. Be sure to let the admins, mods, and controlling owner of the character know beforehand.
  4. Canons must remain in-character and stay true to the lore, no matter what, and cannot deviate from their personalities, abilities, background already established by the game itself.
  5. Canons cannot gain experience or rank up from their designated attributes.
  6. Canons are NOT given special treatment or privileges when in opposition against original characters. The outcome is determined purely by rank, experience, abilities, and fighting rules.
  7. The only exception to the above rule is that canons cannot be killed off in any way for the sake of preserving the story. They can be imprisoned, injured, knocked out, or defeated, but they are not allowed to die.
